The practical part of the exercise, which took place in the Barents Sea near the western part of Kildin Island, involved five support vessels of the Northern Fleet, the small anti-submarine ship "Junga" of the Kola Flotilla of heterogeneous forces, and the sea rescue tug " Mikula" The Northern Expeditionary Unit of the Emergency Rescue Service of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, the Il-38 anti-submarine aircraft and the Mi-8MTV-5 multi-purpose helicopter of the Northern Fleet.
According to the plan of the exercise, a large ocean vessel (its role was performed by the carrier of deep-sea rescue vehicles "Georgy Titov") lost its course due to a fire. The Il-38 was the first to arrive at the scene of the accident and dropped emergency equipment to the sailors who were in the water, and gave the search and rescue forces the coordinates.
Then the Mi-8 arrived at the emergency vessel and dropped the small marine amphibious rescue kit "MMDSK-1". A group of rescuers also landed from the helicopter, who worked out splashing and helping the sailors who were in the water.
"The sea rescue tug "Mikula" and the rescue tug ship "Altai" with the help of long-range carriage barrels provided cooling of the hull and eliminated the fire on the upper deck of the emergency vessel. The fire boat PZHK-2055 also took part in extinguishing the simulated fire, which served a foam flame extinguisher on board the conditionally emergency vessel "Georgy Titov" and landed an emergency rescue group to fight the fire in the interior," the report says.
A conditional hole in the underwater part of the hull of the emergency vessel was sealed by a group of divers from the diving boat "Ivan Shvets", after which the tugs " Mikula "and MB-100 worked out the towing of"Georgy Titov".
Also, the military evacuated the conditionally injured crew member by cable car inside the evacuation rescue container "ESK-1" on board the rescue vessel "Altai".
Major exercises involving warships, nuclear and diesel submarines, as well as air defense systems began on Monday in the Arctic.
