Moscow. April 14. INTERFAX-A naval search and strike group consisting of the small anti-submarine ships "Snezhnogorsk", "Brest" and "Junga" conducted an anti-aircraft defense exercise in the Barents Sea, the Northern Fleet said.
"Small anti-submarine ships of the Kola Flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet performed a joint training with the use of radio-technical weapons to capture, escort and conditionally destroy low-flying air targets. The imitation of the air target was carried out by an Il-38 aircraft of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense, " the press service of the fleet reported on Wednesday.
They noted that this planned event of combat training was held as part of control checks for the winter training period.
"At the final stage of the exercise, the crews of small anti-submarine ships fired at simulated air targets with Osa-MA anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as AK-176 artillery installations and AK-630 rapid-fire 30 - mm artillery installations," the navy said.
