In the near future, the Donald Cook and Roosevelt destroyers of the Arleigh Burke type of the US Navy may proceed to the Black Sea, writes The American The Drive.
The publication of the publication reveals that this may happen against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the south-western part of Ukraine, and notes that the presence of two destroyers in the region "would provide additional opportunities for tracking Russian activity and the ability to better respond to various unforeseen circumstances if they suddenly arise."
"It is worth noting that any major conflict involving Russia and the United States in this region will turn the Black Sea into an anti-ship missile range, where Russian troops will have a serious advantage, at least initially," says The Drive.
In March, the publication "Stars" stated that Russia has the ability to sink NATO ships, in particular, the US Navy, located in the Black Sea.
In the same month, The Drive wrote that the US Navy's Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, based in Spain, have AN/SLQ-62 Portable Electronic Warfare Module-Speed To Fleet (TEWM-STF) electronic warfare systems capable of "killing" Russian P-800 Onyx anti-ship missiles.
