In the fall of this year, the Navy will receive a new small missile ship (MRK) "Kozelsk" project 22800 "Karakurt". This is the fourth MRC in the series. He will serve in the Baltic Fleet.
It is possible that the deadline may be shifted. But in any case, according to the interlocutors of the publication, it is expected that the Navy will receive a novelty before the end of 2021. Kozelsk was laid down in 2016 and launched in 2019.
"Karakurty" - small ships with a displacement of 800 tons, with an impressive arsenal: they carry on board cruise missiles "Caliber", 76.2-mm AK-176MA installation, and can also be equipped with anti-ship missiles "Onyx".
To date, the Navy has three "Karakurt" - "Mytishchi", "Sovetsk" and "Odintsovo": they serve in the Baltic Fleet. In total, according to the plan, 18 such ships should be built, which will be equally divided between the Pacific, Baltic and Black Sea fleets.
Earlier, the commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, said that the Baltic Fleet will receive a total of six "Karakurts", and four of them will be equipped with a unique anti-aircraft system "Pantsir".
