Madfox Boat
The Royal Navy of Great Britain received at its disposal an autonomous robotic boat Madfox. After extensive testing, it will be adopted as part of a new strategy of warfare with the participation of rapid reaction forces.
The basis of Madfox is the Mast-13 autonomous boat, the latest in the L3Harris MAST line of surface vessels, which has been sea-tested for a year and a half in the UK Navy's Defense Science and Technology Laboratory. During the tests, the interaction of the autonomous advanced forces with HMS Albion (a series of ships of the Royal Navy) was practiced. Equipped with a special mast, Madfox will be capable of both remote and autonomous operations, including self-navigation when interacting with nearby vessels. With the help of modern sensors, the boat will be able to perform reconnaissance missions, patrol and protect ships together with the new frigates of types 26 and 31 under construction. In addition, it is planned to release its inflatable version.
