TSAMTO, March 29. In accordance with the task of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, project 636.3, which is building a series of non-nuclear submarines for the Russian Navy, has been thoroughly modernized and meets all modern requirements.
Military-scientific support for the construction of these submarines is carried out by the Military Training and Scientific Center of the Navy.
Earlier, the complexes and systems of the project 636.3 confirmed the declared characteristics during the tests of the first two submarines of the series under construction at the Admiralty Shipyards enterprise for the Pacific Fleet – the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Volkhov diesel-electric submarines, which were carried out with the active participation of specialists from the Rubin Central Design Bureau. Shipbuilders and designers ensured the transfer of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky DAPL to the Navy on November 25, 2019 and the Volkhov DAPL on October 24, 2020.
The submarine "Magadan" is the third in a series of six ships being built for the Pacific Fleet under the project of JSC "TSKB" Rubin "at JSC " Admiralty Shipyards".
This is the second series that is being built for the Navy under project 636.3. In 2010-2016, six submarines of project 636.3 for the Black Sea Fleet were designed, built, passed all types of tests and transferred to the Navy.
Magadan is the 72nd submarine of the Varshavyanka series, which includes submarines of Project 877 and its development, Project 636. The designers of the Central Design Bureau "Rubin" initially laid in this series the possibility of a deep modernization, which went along the path of providing ever higher stealth, the ability of the submarine to detect the enemy first, convenience and safety in operation, as well as an even greater increase in combat effectiveness.
"The modernization potential of the Varshavyanka series submarines after 40 years of development has not been exhausted, and the best proof of this is the order of these submarines by the Russian Navy and their effectiveness, "Igor Vilnit, Director General of the Rubin Central Design Bureau, was quoted as saying by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Defense Ministry.
