A video of the work of the crew of a Russian submarine in preparation for the use of its main weapon, the Kalibr cruise missiles, has appeared on the Network.
The training was held on the submarine of the Black Sea Fleet "Veliky Novgorod".
Submarines of the Varshavyanka type, to which the Veliky Novgorod belongs, shoot "Calibers" from under the water-through torpedo tubes.
- The underwater modification of the "Caliber" is a rocket-torpedo. First, the torpedo is launched, then the torpedo part is separated and the missile follows the air section, "Dmitry Sopin, the submarine's commander, told Zvezda. The crew of the ship, according to him, at the same time does not feel any tremors or concussions - only the joy of completing the task.
Joy is preceded by a quick and well-coordinated work of dozens of people. The training begins with a siren and the command: "Battle alert! Rocket weapons ready for battle." The boatswain sitting at the helm directs the submarine to a depth of 50 meters and the desired course, the compartment commanders report on the readiness to fire. In the middle of the central post there is a commander-as a conductor, he directs the actions of his subordinates.
By the way, the Veliky Novgorod participated in real combat work - in several moves, the submarine fired 14 missiles at terrorist targets in Syria.
