The Chinese fourth-generation J-16 fighter is flawless and far superior to the Russian Su-30, writes the Global Times, referring to the statement of the instructor pilot Wang Songxi from the Air Force (Air Force) of the Northern Command of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA).
"Ordinary people usually can't tell the difference between the J-16 and the Su-30 in appearance, but many things are different inside," the pilot said, adding that in terms of performance, the J-16 is superior to all types of aircraft he has flown.
In his opinion, the J-16 "went ahead" from the Su-30 for "a whole generation", in particular, due to weapons that can operate in all weather conditions.
In July 2020, the publication of the Chinese portal Global Times called the fifth-generation fighters [...] the American F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II, as well as the Chinese J-20, but not the Russian Su-57. The international-oriented publication, supervised by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, referred to the publication in the journal Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica, cited the corresponding opinion of the Deputy Director for Science and Technology of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), General Designer of the J-20, Yang Wei.
The Chinese J-16 is based on the Russian Su-30.
