The Mi-26 crew took off from the Pskov Veretye airfield, having covered 300 kilometers. At the Pushkin airfield, he took on an external suspension of the Su-27 fighter. The plane was safely delivered to the Kingisepp aviation training ground in the Leningrad Region. The route was laid far from populated areas.
As the press service of the ZVO added, piloting a heavy transport helicopter with a load on an external suspension is more difficult than when transporting inside a rotorcraft. It is necessary to observe the speed for each type of cargo - its shape and size. Such operations require experience and skill. As a rule, training begins with a load on an external suspension weighing one thousand kilograms, gradually increasing the weight to the maximum value.
