The event was timed to celebrate the Day of the Submariner. At the same time, a ceremony was held for the commissioning of a new six-story dormitory for submariners of the [4th] separate submarine brigade of the Black Sea Fleet at the rate of one floor for the crew of one of the six submarines of project 06363 ("Varshavyanka"). The events were attended by the Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet, Rear Admiral Igor Smolyak.
Recall that in 2015, JSC "Sokolskaya Shipyard" (Nizhny Novgorod region) received a state contract for the construction of two torpedo boats of the project 1388N3T (factory numbers 451 and 452) for the Russian Navy on the basis of the communication boats of the project 1388N3 built by this enterprise, with delivery dates in 2018 and 2019, respectively. The project developer is JSC KB Vympel (Nizhny Novgorod). The construction of the lead torpedo boat was started by the company in 2016, the second-in 2017.
The lead torpedo boat TL-2195 (factory number 451) was launched at the shipyard on 9 October 2019 and in September 2020 was towed by inland waterways to Novorossiysk for State testing and delivery to the fleet. The acceptance certificate was signed on March 16, 2021.
Now the deadline for the delivery of the second torpedo tube by the shipyard is 2023.
The boat of the project 1388N3T has a length of 48.9 m, a width of 9 m, a draft of 2.62 m. The two-shaft power plant includes two Chinese CHD622V20 diesel engines with a capacity of 3,945 hp, a full-speed speed of 20 knots, a full-speed range of 1,000 miles, and an autonomy of 10 days. Crew of 14 people. A retractable screw-steering column and a bow thruster are installed, and there is a crane for lifting torpedoes. There are no weapons.
The Project 1388N/N3 communication boats and torpedo tubes are a modification of the series of torpedo tubes developed by the Vympel Central Design Bureau of Project 1388 (code "Cormorant") and the project 1388R radiation and chemical reconnaissance boats (code" Cormorant-R"), built for the USSR Navy in the amount of 50 units in 1974-1990 at the Sosnovsky Shipyard.
The construction of modernized boats of this family according to completely redesigned projects was resumed for the Russian Navy at the Sokolskaya Shipyard after 2000. From 2006 to 2013, the Sokolskaya shipyard handed over to the Navy three communication boats (traveling representative) - one of the project 1388N (KSV-67, completed from the hull of the boat of the project 1388R of the Sosnovsky plant with the factory number 482) and two projects 1388N3-KSV-872 (factory number 401) andSWR-2155 (factory number 402).
In 2013, JSC "Sokolskaya Shipyard" received a state contract of the Russian Ministry of Defense for the supply of three communication boats of the modified project 1388N3 with factory numbers 403, 404 and 405, with delivery dates, respectively, in 2017-2019. These boats have little in common with the previous project 1388N3, representing in fact large executive yachts with a length of 66.9 meters. In fact, under this contract, only one communication boat KSVV-2168 (factory number 403) was built, which was commissioned by the Navy in 2018. There is no information about the construction of the other two boats (including in the published reports of the shipyard), from which it can be concluded that the contract for them was canceled.
Sokolskaya Shipyard is also building project 436bis target vessels for the Russian Ministry of Defense, having delivered 10 units from 2006 to 2019 (factory numbers 014 to 023), and has a contract for the construction of another target vessel (factory number 024), with delivery in 2021..
