The Russian Navy will receive three nuclear submarines by the end of the year, including the strategic project "Borey-A". On the air of Sputnik radio, military expert, captain of the 1st rank of the reserve Vasily Dandykin stressed that this is the only nuclear submarine of the fourth generation.
The Russian Navy will receive three nuclear submarines this year: the strategic submarine "Prince Oleg" (project 955A), as well as two multi-purpose submarines "Kazan" and "Novosibirsk" (project 885M). This was stated in an interview in the newspaper "Red Star" by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov.
"By the end of the year, the Russian Navy will receive the strategic missile submarine of the Borey-A project, the Knyaz Oleg, and the nuclear – powered submarine cruisers of the Yasen project, Kazan and Novosibirsk, which are being built at the SEVMASH enterprise," Evmenov said.
In addition, this year will be laid the last two cruisers in the series "Borea-A – -" Prince Potemkin " and "Dmitry Donskoy", said the commander-in-chief.

Currently, the Navy has three Borey series submarines – Yuri Dolgoruky, Alexander Nevsky and Vladimir Monomakh, as well as the first submarine built according to the improved project 955A (Borey-A) "Prince Vladimir".
The submarine of the project 885 ("Ash") "Severodvinsk" is the only one in the Navy. Other submarines, including the Kazan and Novosibirsk, which will be part of this year, are being built under the new Yasen-M project. The Krasnoyarsk, Arkhangelsk, Perm and Ulyanovsk submarines are on the slipways of the plant. The seventh and eighth such submarines were laid down in July last year, they were named "Vladivostok" and "Voronezh" and should be transferred to the fleet at the turn of 2027-2028.
