TSAMTO, March 19. For Kamchatka submariners, 2021 is a double anniversary year: it marks the 115th anniversary of the formation of the Russian Submarine Fleet and the 290th anniversary of the Pacific Fleet.
This was stated in an interview with the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" on the eve of the Day of the Submariner, which is celebrated on March 19, by the commander of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Dmitriev.
Below are some fragments of V. Dmitriev's interview with the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda".
"The Red Banner submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet – a powerful association of nuclear submarines of different classes-play a crucial role in ensuring stability in the Asia-Pacific region. To ensure that none of the neighboring states has the slightest doubt about the status of the association and its combat capability, the country is taking colossal and comprehensive measures to develop the base of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet, arming the association with new combat units, including those that have no analogues in the world.
The past year 2020 was quite successful and significant for the submarine Forces of the Pacific Fleet. We participated in all operational training activities conducted by the Pacific Fleet…
Undoubtedly, the main result of last year and the peak of our training was the volley firing of four Bulava missiles from the Pacific water area at the range located in the Northern Fleet. Four missiles were launched from the Vladimir Monomakh rocket launcher, and all training units reached the battle field with high accuracy…
As part of the association, there is another unique unit – a detachment of anti-sabotage forces and means. In addition to the specific tasks in the area of responsibility, the detachment also solves other tasks outside the home base-in regions of the world where our country defends its geopolitical interests, as well as participates in oceanographic research. In particular, last year he performed tasks off the coast of Antarctica. The squad is headed by Captain 2nd rank Alexander Shvets…
Over the past few years, we have formed about ten new crews that have been trained in various training centers of the Russian Navy. Today, together with shipbuilders, they are putting into operation new nuclear-powered submarines with their subsequent tests and acceptance into the Russian Navy. In accordance with the state Armament Program, we expect the arrival of a number of new ships of the type that are already performing tasks – "Alexander Nevsky" and "Vladimir Monomakh" – as well as other projects. Soon, the combat strength of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet will be supplemented by Borey-type submarines, even more energetically armed and equipped with new weapons and special equipment. Our science and the military-industrial complex are developing very rapidly. Progressive developments-the fruits of their labors are actively implemented and implemented in the projects of new nuclear submarines. In addition to these submarines, we expect the arrival of multi-purpose submarines, in the next year or two they will begin to enter the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet. In addition, the Red Banner Association will be strengthened by other newest combat units of the fleet, including those that have no analogues in the world.
In order to receive such a large number of new combat units of the fleet, active construction of infrastructure facilities is underway at the main base. Two piers, charging and power stations, a compressor station, as well as some communications have already been put into operation. In the interests of the development of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet, the construction of the coastline of several microdistricts is underway. The ongoing work is so large-scale that in the near future it will change the landscape of the base point and the village as a whole."
