TSAMTO, March 18. On March 17, DSME announced the handover ceremony of the third and final Nagapasa-class (405) Alugoro to the Indonesian Navy command at the PT PAL facility in Surabaya.
The event was attended by Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, representatives of the Armed Forces command, contractor companies and other officials.

The final assembly of the third submarine took place at the PT PAL shipyard in Indonesia, using sections built in South Korea and transferred technologies.
The first DAPL of the series, (403) "Nagapasa", was transferred to the Indonesian Navy on 2 August 2017, the second, (404) "Ardadedali", on 25 April 2018. The third submarine, (405) Alugoro, was launched at the PT PAL facility in Surabaya, Indonesia, on 11 April 2019.
The length of the diesel-electric submarines supplied to the Indonesian Navy is 61.3 m, width-6.25 m, surface / underwater displacement-1280/1400 tons, crew-40 people (including 5 officers). The submarine is equipped with four MTU 12V493 diesel engines and develops a maximum speed of 21.5 knots in the underwater position and 11 knots in the surface position, a range of navigation in the surface position-about 10 thousand nautical miles at a speed of 10 knots, autonomy-about 50 days. The platform is equipped with a set of Wartsila ELAC KaleidoScope sonar systems, the signals from which are transmitted to the processor of the same company for use in the navigation and combat systems of the submarine. The submarines are armed with eight 533-mm torpedo tubes, which allow launching torpedoes (up to 14 units), mines and missiles. It is estimated that the service life of the DAPL will be about 30 years.
On April 12, 2019, DSME announced the signing of a contract worth $ 1.162 trillion. won ($1.02 billion) for the supply of the second batch of three Nagapasa-class diesel-electric submarines to the Indonesian Navy, but its status is currently unknown. Over the past year, the Indonesian Defense Ministry said it was evaluating the possibility of revising the signed agreement and was in talks with other manufacturers.
Indonesia is also a partner of South Korea in the KF-X fighter development project, having pledged to finance 20% of the costs, which are estimated at 8.8 trillion won. In total, Indonesia is due to contribute about 1.7 trillion won, but the payments were stopped after investing 227.2 billion won. Indonesia's current debt under the program is about 600 billion won.
