IVAS System
New army glasses for the US Army-Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) will help soldiers get important visual information without leaving the APCs and other combat vehicles. The command plans to purchase tens of thousands of such points.
Visual information will be transmitted to the IVAS from cameras installed outside the Bradley and Stryker combat vehicles. To assess the situation and choose a target, the soldiers do not need to go outside. The glasses, in particular, will be projected images of maps, normal and night video. Soldiers used to have access to such information, but now, thanks to IVAS, access to it has become almost instantaneous, which is very important in combat conditions.

The glasses can also use the rifle - mounted thermal night vision scope to capture video information that is in the field of view of other soldiers. Also, the fighter will be able to direct the rifle sight from the shelter, watch the enemy through the glasses without exposing himself to danger, and even get access to the cameras installed on drones in the combat area. The US Army Command is well aware of the potential of such technology and plans to purchase up to 40,000 IVAS points worth $ 1.1 billion.
