Moscow. March 10. INTERFAX-Diesel submarines Kolpino and Veliky Novgorod have put to sea for maneuvers, the Russian Black Sea Fleet said on Wednesday.
"The exercise is conducted in accordance with the plan of combat training of the fleet's submarine forces in the sea ranges in the Black Sea," the report says.
The submarine " Kolpino "went to the training ground from Sevastopol," Veliky Novgorod " - from the point of permanent deployment of Novorossiysk, the Black Sea Fleet said.
Before going to sea, the submariners conducted training on emergency preparation for combat and marching, and after leaving the base points, they practiced diving to a given depth, the military said.
"As part of the exercise, the submariners will work out the algorithm of actions to search for a submarine of a conditional enemy, take part in joint training with anti - submarine and minesweeping forces of the Black Sea Fleet, as well as alternately conduct deep-sea dives with a load on the ground to a depth of more than 200 meters," the fleet said.
The exercises will last until March 18.
"Kolpino" and "Veliky Novgorod" -diesel-electric submarines of the third generation of the updated project 636.3, built for the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. The special feature of the project submarines is the Kalibr-PL complex of high-precision missile weapons, as well as updated radio-electronic equipment.
The Kolpino and Veliky Novgorod submarines have in the past carried out "Caliber" strikes from the Mediterranean Sea against militants in Syria.
