Military sailors in the Syrian Tartus conducted a training session, during which they repelled a simulated attack by saboteur divers on ships at a Russian logistics point.
It is noted that during the training, saboteurs approached the Russian base on a high-speed boat to mine the ships. Patrol officers found the intruders, notified the crew of the small rocket ship, as well as other units about the danger.
A high-speed patrol boat headed for the saboteurs ' vessel, and the missile ship opened fire on the simulated enemy. As the commander of the combat unit of the small rocket ship Pavel Gushchin said, the task of the crew is to prepare and equip the diving post.
"If there was a fact of detection of a saboteur-diver, examine the underwater part of the ship's hull for the detection of foreign objects-mines," Gushchin said.
It is noted that during the exercises, the saboteurs were detained under water. For this purpose, a group of combat swimmers was involved.
On March 3, it was reported that a joint training of Russian Navy servicemen and Russian Air Force pilots took place at the Syrian air base Khmeimim. The military worked out the mechanisms of radio-technical reconnaissance and escort of ships by aviation forces.
