The universal landing ships of the project 23900 "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" under construction in Kerch will be able to carry four reconnaissance and attack drones and up to 16 helicopters.
According to RIA Novosti, helicopters developed by the Kamov Design Bureau will be based on Russian helicopter carriers. We are talking about the" marine " version of the Ka-52K and other models, including the Ka-27 submarine chaser.
Another advantage of the universal landing ships "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" is the possibility of placing a large number of equipment, auxiliary vessels and marines on them.
In addition, the ships of the project 23900, whose displacement is 30 thousand tons, will be able to additionally carry six landing craft, as well as about 75 armored vehicles, 900 marine paratroopers and auxiliary equipment. Helicopter carriers "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" can be used as floating hospitals or as flagships for coastal operations.
At the expense of the aviation group, landing ships will be able to solve tasks on anti-submarine and mine defense, as well as take part in humanitarian missions.
Recall that recently at the shipyard " Bay " began the formation of the hulls of the ships under construction of the project 23900.
