Another control exit of the submarine into the sea is planned, the source told TASS
MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. The lead nuclear submarine of the project 885M ("Ash-M") "Kazan" will be transferred to the Russian Navy (Navy) approximately in May-June 2021. This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"The transfer of the Kazan to the fleet is expected in May-June of this year," he said. According to him, another control exit of the submarine into the sea is planned, after which an audit of the components and mechanisms will be carried out. Only then the boat will raise the St. Andrew's flag. The program of launches of Kalibr and Onyx cruise missiles has been completed by the Kazan nuclear submarine, and no other launches are planned.
TASS has no comment on Sevmash (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, USC) regarding the information.
The lead submarine of the project 885M "Yasen-M" "Kazan" was launched on March 31, 2017. On September 25, 2018, she entered factory sea trials. The timing of its transfer to the fleet was repeatedly postponed. Earlier, the head of the USC, Alexey Rakhmanov, reported that he plans to transfer the submarine to the fleet in 2020. On December 9, in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper, the commander of the Northern Fleet, Alexander Moiseev, said that it would complete all state tests by the end of the year. On December 31, the press service of Sevmash reported that the Kazan submarine will be handed over in 2021.
