The small anti-submarine ship "Brest" is designed to search for and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone. She was laid down at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard on 11 May 1987, launched on 30 July 1988, and joined the Northern Fleet on 9 November 1988.
From July 22, 1988 to February 15, 1992, the ship was named "Brest Komsomolets". Armament - anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, rocket launchers RBU-6000 and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems.
