MOSCOW, February 14-RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the changing mood in foreign countries on the issue of new types of weapons in Russia.

"...In the field of military construction... at first, too, as over the vaccine giggled. Remember when I told you about the new modern types of weapons that are being put into service in the Russian armed forces, on combat duty. At first, they began to giggle that all this was nonsense, fake, invented. Now all this has changed to a completely different mood, " Putin said at a meeting with the chief editors of the Russian media, the footage of which was shown on "Russia 24".

He added that now these new types of weapons are proposed to be included in the agenda of the negotiations. "It is already being said that in order to conduct further negotiations on curbing the arms race, it is necessary to include our new models of tactical and strategic weapons in the negotiations. I'm not talking about the "Vanguard" and all the rest of our hypersonic weapons, " he explained.

Putin presented Russian hypersonic weapons in a message to the Federal Assembly in 2018-a speech about the Avangard and Dagger complexes. Later it became known about the development of a hypersonic cruise missile "Zircon".

The Avangard hypersonic combat unit is capable of reaching speeds up to 20 times the speed of sound. The first regiment with appropriate systems deployed in Yasnenskiy missile division (Orenburg oblast). The Kinzhal hypersonic missile system, according to the developers, is guaranteed to overcome all existing air and missile defense systems, delivering nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of up to 2 thousand kilometers. "Dagger" is equipped with MiG-31K interceptor fighters.

The hypersonic missile "Zircon" is capable of reaching a speed of Mach 9 (nine times the speed of sound, more than 10 thousand kilometers per hour), has a flight range of more than a thousand kilometers. "Zircon" is planned to arm surface and underwater ships - both promising and under construction. In addition to the naval version, Putin mentioned the development of a land-based" Zircon".
