Sevmash designers have improved the technology of installing platforms with equipment on the foundations of the submarine and the design of their mounts. Instead of traditional leveling pads made of steel, polymer composites will now be used. They are three times better at dampening vibrations, and are cheaper.
- Previously, this technology was not used in underwater shipbuilding due to the lack of experience and regulatory framework, - the press service of the enterprise said.
Polymers are three times better than steel at dampening vibroacoustic vibrations, which is especially important for submarines. The new materials were tested both in the laboratory and in the compartments of submarines. The necessary conclusions were received from the Ministry of Defense and the Center for Shipbuilding Technologies. The new technology is supported by design bureaus.
- According to our calculations, the use of composites will save more than 80 million rubles during the construction of nuclear submarines. It significantly reduces labor and financial costs while maintaining quality and reliability, " Sevmash noted.
