A new crack has been discovered on the International Space Station (ISS). This was stated on the air of the TV channel "Russia-24" by the head of the flight of the Russian segment of the ISS, Vladimir Solovyov, TASS reports .
"So far, we have found one, and under suspicion another place where there is some leakage," Solovyov said. According to the head of the mission of the Russian segment of the ISS, the astronauts are waiting for the arrival of a powerful microscope on the cargo ship, with the help of which possible places of crack formation will be examined.
On January 21, the Rossiya-24 TV channel reported that one of the SLE-2 air conditioning systems in the Russian Zvezda module had been shut down on the ISS. The astronauts are not in any danger, as the station has a backup system SLE-1.
On January 16, the director of the ISS division at NASA headquarters, Robin Gatens , said that the search for a second air leak in the Russian Zvezda module was stopped until February, before the arrival of the next Progress spacecraft. The hole in the hull of the ISS was formed at the end of December. An air leak in the Russian module at the station was recorded in September.
