UK buys unmanned minesweepers

The contract is valued at £25m and includes three autonomous SWEEP systems. The robotic minesweeper was developed by order of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom and first tested in 2018. Delivery of the first" serial " SWEEP system is planned for 2022.

The SWEEP system includes an autonomous surface vessel that is towed by a sensor unit. The installation uses magnetic, acoustic and electrical technologies to detect and neutralize various types of sea mines.
