UMK "Varan" is an aircraft carrier complex, characterized by a high degree of automation and the possibility of using robotic systems. It can accommodate 24 multi-purpose aircraft, six helicopters and up to 20 unmanned aerial vehicles.
The displacement of the ship is about 45 thousand tons, length-about 250 m, width-65 m, draft on the structural waterline-9 m. "Varan" is able to reach a speed of up to 26 knots.
The displacement of the promising UDC is about 30 thousand tons. The length of the ship reaches about 220 m, width-42 m, draft on the structural waterline-7 m. The new UDC is capable of developing a speed of about 24 knots. On the deck of the ship there are seven landing pads for helicopters.
Nevskoe PKB is one of the largest Russian developers of universal ships and the only Russian designer of aircraft carriers and training complexes. The company celebrates its 90th anniversary on January 18.
