The ship of the Northern Fleet "Snezhnogorsk" went to sea for maneuvers

MOSCOW, January 15/ Sputnik Radio. The small anti-submarine ship (MPK) of the Kola flotilla of the heterogeneous forces of the Northern Fleet "Snezhnogorsk" left on January 15 in the Barents Sea to perform artillery firing, reports the portal EADaily.

The ship "Snezhnogorsk" is armed with anti-aircraft artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M, jet bomb launchers RBU-6000 and 533-mm torpedo tubes, as well as modern sonar systems. It is designed to search for and destroy submarines in the near sea and coastal zone.

"The crew of the ship will conduct a number of ship-wide exercises on anti-submarine and air defense, as well as on the fight for survivability. Calculations of the ship's artillery systems AK-176M and AK-630M will perform artillery firing on coastal, surface and air targets, " the press service of the Northern Fleet reported.

They added that the crew will have to work out a number of elements of anti-sabotage defense of the ship and conduct training on maneuvering in conditions of limited visibility and intensive navigation.

Earlier, Sputnik radio reported on the publication of photos of NATO ships in the Barents Sea.
