The renewal of the fleet
The pace of construction for the Navy continues to grow: in 2021, the Navy will receive 32 ships. So, two strategic nuclear submarines of the Borey-A class will join the combat team. The cruisers "Knyaz Oleg" and "Generalissimo Suvorov" with Bulava ballistic missiles were created according to an improved project: they differ from the previous "Boreas" in their stealth, improved controls, communication and sonar systems, and more comfortable living conditions for the crew.
The Northern Fleet of Russia will receive the first diesel-electric submarine "Varshavyanka" project 636.3. Six of these submarines, considered the quietest in the world, now serve on the Black Sea, six more in the coming years will go to the Pacific Fleet.
As for surface ships, in the coming year, the Pacific Fleet expects corvettes of Project 20380 "Sharp" and"Zealous". The Navy already has six pennants of this series, and sailors speak only positively about them. In August, the Defense Ministry signed another eight-year contract for an additional batch of six ships.
The main armament of the corvettes is eight Uranus launchers with X-35 anti-ship missiles. Each is equipped with a 145-kilogram warhead and reaches targets at a distance of more than 250 kilometers. At the same time, upgraded ships of the same project will be able to carry Kalibr cruise missiles.

The ranks of small rocket ships will also be replenished. Shipbuilders will give the fleet another "Buyan-M", also armed with a universal missile system "Kalibr-NK". Eight such "babies" are currently serving on the Black, Baltic and Caspian Seas. Another one-Grayvoron-is undergoing state tests. "Buyans", with a displacement of only 950 tons, have repeatedly demonstrated effectiveness in real combat conditions, firing at ground targets of terrorists during the Syrian campaign.
The Navy will also strengthen another project of "calibrated" small missile ships - "Karakurt". These mrcs will be received by the Baltics and the Black Sea. "Karakurty" with a displacement of 800 tons are designed for operations in the near sea zone. In addition to the "Caliber", they are armed with a 76.2-mm gun AK-176MA and two 30-mm anti-aircraft automatic installations AK-630M. And starting from the third board of the MRK series, they are equipped with the Pantsir-ME air defense system.

Global deterrence
Strategic missile forces will receive 13 missile systems with intercontinental "Yars" and hypersonic "Avangards". In addition, the construction of infrastructure for them in Kozelsk, Yasny, Uzhur, Novosibirsk and Yoshkar-Ola will be completed.
The Teikovo, Yoshkar-Ola, Nizhny Tagil, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk missile divisions have already been re-equipped with mobile-based Yars. And the first regiment with the "Vanguards" took up combat duty in 2019.
Ministry of defence and came close to adopting a strategic missile complex "Sarmat". For flight tests of the promising complex, they will even build a special training ground near the village of Severo-Yeniseysky. This program is at the final stage: the delivery of Sarmat to the Strategic Missile Forces is scheduled for 2022.

Planes and helicopters
Serial deliveries of upgraded Su-34M fighter-bombers will begin. Now there are more than a hundred "thirty-fourths"in the VKS. Some decided to finalize after combat use in Syria. The upgraded vehicles will be able to carry new aircraft weapons, they will be equipped with modern electronic warfare equipment, advanced avionics. The "crackers" will replace the sights, communication systems and radars. According to experts, the upgraded Su-34M will double its predecessor's combat capabilities.
In addition, the VKS expects updated Tu-160M strategic bombers this year. As part of the deep modernization, modern flight and navigation equipment, on-board communication and control systems, a radar station, and a complex of electronic countermeasures are being installed on the missile carriers. As a result, the combat effectiveness of the aircraft has significantly increased, and the range of action has increased by a thousand kilometers.
Special attention is paid to helicopter technology. So, in 2021, the Russian army will receive ten transport and combat Mi-8AMTSh-VN with an improved complex of guided weapons. Unlike previous models, the cabin of this "eight" is protected by titanium armor, and the transport compartment is covered with light aramid armor protection. All this makes the Mi-8 a multifunctional vehicle for performing shock, assault and amphibious transport tasks.

The first to test the Mi-8AMTSh-VN in the case of the army aviation brigade, acting in the interests of the Airborne troops. This helicopter has already been dubbed the "flying BMD": it can transfer troops and at the same time provide effective fire support, including high-precision missiles.
It was also reported that by the end of the coming year, 18 upgraded Mi-28NM attack helicopters out of a hundred ordered will be sent to the troops. Anti-missile "umbrella"
The army will receive the first anti-aircraft missile systems of the new generation S-500 "Prometheus". Serial production of the ZRS will begin in 2025. In the meantime, the military and industry are testing the "five hundredth" on state tests.
The peculiarity of the Prometheus is that, in addition to intercepting aerodynamic targets, it is capable of shooting down ballistic intercontinental missiles and hypersonic aircraft. At the same time, the S-500 reaches objects hundreds of kilometers from Earth, that is, in fact, it works in space. According to open data, the range of S-500 — 600 kilometers. "Five hundredth" alone detects and simultaneously bombard dozens of targets flying at a speed of seven kilometers per second.
Another novelty for the army is the S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system. Its first samples entered the army in 2019. But the Defense Ministry has ordered four more sets — they will be delivered in 2021 and 2023. The regiments stationed in Khakassia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which now have S-300PS systems, will be among the first to be re-equipped with the new air defense systems.
Recall that the "Vityaz" is designed to replace the effective, but already elderly "three hundred". The S-350 consists of a self-propelled installation, an all-angle radar with electronic scanning of space and a command post. Ammunition — medium-range missiles of two types.

The first are designed to defeat aerodynamic and ballistic targets at a range of 120 kilometers. The S-350 has an expanded ammunition supply: in one division-more than 140 missiles, twice as many as the S-300PS. One "Vityaz" fires up to 16 targets at once, while it is much cheaper than the S-400 "Triumph" air defense system.
In total, the Russian Aerospace Forces will receive 12 S-350 divisions in 2021-2027, which will increase the effectiveness of the fight against cruise missiles by 2.5 times.
