Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh solve their main task - to monitor compliance with the ceasefire regime around the clock, including with the help of modern technical means.
For example, the official representative of the Russian defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, said that at 23 observation posts, our "blue helmets" use a mobile set of secure video conferencing - MK ZVKS. It is a compact satellite dish paired with a special equipment unit and a small monitor for visual communication of the military.
All this "economy" provides peacekeepers with several types of communication lines that are closed to prying ears and eyes. Specifically-mode telephone communication with subscribers. As well as video broadcasting and data transmission systems both in stationary and in the field with reference to external or own satellite communication channels.
It is clear that such equipment is like a lifesaver for Russian peacekeepers serving in isolation from their main deployment, in the mountainous terrain of Karabakh and the local changeable weather. Any information about the situation at the post and in their area of responsibility, the military can transmit to their headquarters in a matter of minutes and immediately receive orders from the command.
Konashenkov also mentioned the unmanned Orlan-10. According to the General, the military, in particular, uses these drones to monitor the situation in the Lachin corridor in the vicinity of the localities of Teh and Mardakert.
The choice of unmanned vehicles to work in Nagorno-Karabakh, of course, is not accidental. With a launch weight of 14-18 kilograms, Orlan-10 is capable of carrying a payload of five kilograms. Released from a collapsible catapult, the drone can rise to an altitude of five thousand meters, fly at speeds up to 170 kilometers per hour and transmit a picture to the operator's console in real time from a distance of 120 km.
