The black sea fleet of the Russian Navy entered the exercise in full force. This was reported on Thursday, December 3 , on the website of the Ministry of defense.
As explained in the military Department, the exercises involve the frigates "Admiral Grigorovich" and "Admiral Makarov", the patrol ship "Dmitry Rogachev", the patrol ship "Inquisitive", small missile ships "Orekhovo-Zuyevo" and "Ingushetia", as well as large landing ships, small anti-submarine ships, submarines, minesweepers and auxiliary fleet vessels. Ships going out to sea are accompanied by helicopters and naval aircraft; they are covered by air defense systems that are in service with the black sea fleet.
The maneuvers of the Russian fleet have already attracted the attention of the United States. According to the portal FlightRadar, the area of the exercise was patrolled by a strategic reconnaissance aircraft of the us Air force Boeing RC-135U Combat Sent. It took off from the airport of the NATO military base in Crete, flew over The black sea, approaching the Crimean Peninsula, then turned around over the territory of Georgia and moved in the opposite direction.
Aircraft of the United States and its European partners regularly carry out reconnaissance flights over the Black sea and close to the borders of Russia. So, in September, a Russian su-27 fighter intercepted RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft of the US and British air forces in the area.
