TSAMTO, November 25. The modernized pontoon-bridge fleet based on KAMAZ vehicles entered service with the engineer-sapper regiment of the 41st combined arms army of the Central military district.
The modern modification of the fleet consists of 36 units of automotive equipment: coastal and river links based on KAMAZ-53501 vehicles, sets of rapid deployment of temporary roads instead of outdated "linings", as well as BMK-460 towing and motor boats based on new KAMAZ-63501 vehicles. The pontoon-bridge Park is intended for the construction of ferry and bridge crossings over water barriers on the way of movement of troops.
The regiment, which will be formed by the end of November, will perform engineering support for transit transport and regrouping of troops in Siberia. The newly formed military unit consists of engineer-sapper, pontoon-crossing, engineering-technical battalions and support units.
The 41st OA of the Central military district is stationed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Irkutsk regions, the Altai territory and the Republic of Tyva. It consists of motorized rifle, artillery units, air defense forces, rcbz and communications, the press service of the Central military district reports.
