China continues to build a new aircraft carrier Type 004, and at a very fast pace. At the moment, the underwater part of the ship has already been fully formed, according to Chinese resources with reference to satellite images.
Work continues at the Dalian shipyard on the Type 004 aircraft carrier, which is expected to become one of the largest not only in the Chinese navy, but also in the world. The ship has not yet found its final shape, but already the total length of the hull is about 323 meters, and the maximum width is about 78 meters. At the same time, an error is possible due to the difference in the height of the bow and stern. American aircraft carriers of the Gerald R. Ford type have a total length of 337 meters, a waterline width of 41 meters and a flight deck of 78 meters.
At the moment, the underwater part of the aircraft carrier is practically assembled, the bulbous bow and stem are installed, and sponsors are being installed on the starboard side.

Type 004 is the first fully Chinese-built aircraft carrier with a nuclear power plant with a displacement of 110 to 120 thousand tons. The length is estimated at more than 330 meters, and the width is 83 m. The expected speed will exceed 30 knots. The ship will be able to carry up to 100 planes and helicopters. Previously, the aircraft carrier is scheduled to enter service in 2030, and Beijing intends to receive up to six aircraft carriers of this project.
