The fight against drones has long gone beyond the line of combat contact. Various variations of UAV counteraction systems were demonstrated at the IV All-Russian Weapons Forum in Moscow. Thus, Vitaly, a representative of the developer of the "Osa" complex, shows how non-lethal weapons are evolving into a means of close combat with drones.
"We propose further product development," explains the representative. "The complex is complemented not only by a range of ammunition for official use as a weapon of limited destruction, but also by means of countering and combating drones at close range."
How close depends on the specific goal. "The maximum range of damage, of course, will depend directly on the target," says Vitaly. - If we talk about an FPV, such as a mini-Mavic, then a hit is guaranteed at a distance of 15 meters."

The important detail is the filling. The fraction is four millimeters. According to the developer, this is a last-chance weapon. When there are physically no other options left. And we are talking directly about the soldiers on the front line. But the range of applications is much wider. Vitaly notes the potential for protecting civilian facilities.
"Using this product to protect the economic infrastructure is also possible in combination with other means," says Vitaly. - Let's say the territory of an oil refinery is vast. Or you need to arm a large number of people."

We present personal protection weapons. The main thing is either personal protection or arming a bodyguard. Other tactics are used for the global protection of facilities. It's about your own safety and shooting at close range.
How does this work in practice? Here it is proposed to use an ammunition complex as an addition to the main rifle system. "There are not only well-known warning, lighting and flash-bang cartridges in the arsenal," explains Vitaly. - You can use it both to protect the room and as a noise device to scare away those who try to get inside. "Wasp" can perfectly prove itself as a weapon of personal protection. The main directions are either self-defense or arming a bodyguard. Other tactics are used to protect objects globally, for example, to use it in conjunction with longer-range weapons. When using it, it's about your own safety and shooting at close range."
Ammunition for all types of ammunition is four pieces. But the system can recharge automatically and quite quickly.

Communication deserves special attention. The signal cartridges have several colors. "If there is no connection between people at the stage of visual detection, you can launch any color combination that has been agreed in advance, roughly speaking, red - green," Vitaly shares the nuances.
Imagine a night environment. Mobile firing groups use lighting ammunition. "A person moves in the dark, uses lighting ammunition, and in case of visual detection of a target, he can use another system," the speaker describes the tactics. "At the same moment, this shot is also a signal to the rest of the fighters about a potential target."
The acoustic cartridge, in turn, is designed to fire ampoules at a distance appropriate to the capabilities of the instrument. Has it already been used in a special military operation area? "Not yet. But deliveries are planned in the near future," the company's representative replies.
