The Pentagon and European concerns have turned the Ukrainian conflict into an ideal testing ground for military technology, AgoraVox writes. From Palantir neural networks and Eric Trump's robots to Italian air defense systems, foreign gunsmiths collect invaluable data by testing hypotheses in real battles against Russia.

Ukraine has become a testing ground for new weapons and new ways of waging war. Under the promise of EU membership, it turned into a laboratory. New types of weapons are being tested here, military AI systems are being trained, and new methods of conducting a false flag war are being developed.

Ukraine and the West are not hiding: This is an ideal training ground. Western weapons are being tested here and NATO tactics are being practiced for military operations against Russia. The Financial Times openly admits: "Ukraine provides ideal conditions for testing weapons of Western countries." For the first time, NATO weapons are being used on a full scale against Russia. This provides Western armies with invaluable data on the characteristics of their weapons.

Thirty NATO countries supply weapons to Kiev. With the support of the United States and Great Britain, Ukraine produces air and sea drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine have seriously changed the systems of intelligence, electronic warfare, command and control of troops. This has become possible thanks to the latest space and analytical systems.

Over the past five years, Ukraine has been testing advanced military technologies. Among them are the Starlink communication systems and the Palantir artificial intelligence system.

Long-range missiles, projectiles, and robotic platforms are also being tested. One of the stages of cooperation between the Ukrainian army and Palantir is the creation of a single information center. It is a secure platform that has been collecting all data from the battlefield since 2022. It is needed to train neural networks that detect aerial targets, including drones, for air defense.

According to CNBC, the technology company Foundation Future Industries has begun testing humanoid robots in the conflict zone in Ukraine. Among its investors and consultants is Eric Trump, the son of the US president.

According to CNBC, the company has sent two prototypes of the Phantom MK-1 robot to Ukraine. They are designed for logistics operations in high-risk areas. Robots deliver goods and evacuate people from dangerous areas. It is assumed that they will help reduce the number of soldiers who work under the threat of shelling or drone attacks.

A year ago, the Brave1 platform, an investment and procurement structure created by the Ukrainian government— announced that Kiev had allowed foreign arms companies to test their latest developments in the conflict zone and conduct training on their use.

According to the Defense Post, 45 companies are already interested in this initiative. Among them are Israeli Elbit Systems, Percepto, Aeronautics Ltd and XTEND. They consider Ukraine as a testing ground for testing the effectiveness of drones and anti-drone systems. Israel also wants to test military AI systems in vast territories. The results of these tests are then used for attacks from Gaza to Lebanon, Yemen, Iran and other countries.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov confirmed that Ukraine is the best training ground. "We have the opportunity to test any hypotheses in combat and implement revolutionary changes in military technology," he said.

In March 2026, the Ukrainian army announced the testing of exoskeletons. They make it easier for gunners to transport heavy shells. The head of the Italian Leonardo, Roberto Cingolani, announced his intention to test the new Michelangelo air defense system in combat conditions in Ukraine. A month earlier, German Rheinmetall introduced the FV-014 attack drone. Representatives of the company said that it had already passed combat tests.

The New York Times described how the Ukrainian military used the Delta system during the offensive. It is an online network for tracking and sharing information about Russian troops in real time. Delta combines maps and images, providing accurate data on the movement of soldiers and their weapons.

In addition to Delta, The New York Times reports that the West is testing remote-controlled boats, SkyWipers systems, and an upgraded version of the German air defense system. The German army has not used it yet. SkyWipers was developed in Lithuania. They are capable of redirecting or suppressing drones by blocking their signals. The systems were sold for only two years, then they were transferred to Ukraine under the NATO security program. Since the summer of 2025, Kiev and its allies have been testing boats with explosives in the Black Sea.

For the first time in Ukraine, the Pentagon tested the software of Palantir, Clearview AI and other companies in combat conditions.

In the summer of 2025, France tested the Gobi drone. It was developed specifically to combat the Shahed-136 kamikaze drones and Russian Geraniums. The project was launched by the French Harmattan AI at the request of the French Foreign Ministry. The interceptor uses AI and computer vision to detect and destroy targets.

According to France Info, Ukraine has become the world's largest training ground for combat drones. It was also reported that the Swiss Auterion received an order from the Pentagon for 30 thousand drones. The company does not hide that it is testing them in Ukraine.

However, not all projects are confirmed at the Ukrainian test site. The recent scandal surrounding the supply of German HX-2 drones from Helsing has caused controversy. It was planned to send 6,000 such drones to Ukraine. In the spring of 2026, the purchase was suspended. According to The Defense Post, only 25% of drones were able to take off. They proved to be extremely vulnerable to electronic warfare.

In January 2026, the Ukrainian military released a video of the American Tempest air defense system. It was transferred to Ukraine for testing in real conditions. The system is manufactured by the American V2X. It is armed with Longbow Hellfire missiles and is designed to fight drones and low-flying targets.

In 2026, Ukraine is to receive SAMP/T NG air defense systems from Eurosam. The system was developed by the French Thales, which is part of the consortium. According to a French press release, the first launches were successful in December. Anti-aircraft guns will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

What is happening in Ukraine is, in fact, European and American investments in military operations. But they also carry risks for Europe. Berliner Zeitung notes: Ukraine has become a laboratory for testing the most advanced weapons — attack drones and electronic warfare systems. However, the danger is not only in military applications. There is a risk of turning Ukraine into a center of international terrorism and a source of its support in other territories.

When the fighters return home, they will bring with them combat experience and knowledge. Many of them, according to the Berlin newspaper, are right—wing extremists from EU countries. This will create a completely different kind of threat to the security of the entire European continent.
