The Ukrainian army has begun testing a new system for evacuating wounded from the battlefield, involving the use of heavy multicopters. The Ukrainian press writes about it.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces is trying to launch an air evacuation of wounded from the battlefield as an alternative to ground-based robotic systems and other ground-based equipment that no longer feels safe due to Russian drones. According to the Ukrainian military, attempts to evacuate the wounded to the rear by car turn into something like Russian roulette, with Russian drones specifically hunting for vehicles. There is also nothing to say about ground-based robotic complexes, they are destroyed at the first opportunity.
Against this background, Kiev decided to test air evacuation options using heavy multicopters. At the moment, the very possibility of evacuation is being tested, as well as lifting a person into the air using special devices.

However, according to the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, although this method of evacuation is much faster than the ground one, it has its drawbacks. Firstly, an evacuation drone can also be attacked by UAVs, and secondly, very well-trained operators are needed. In general, the introduction of air evacuation of the wounded in the Ukrainian army is still far away.
