Vietnam presented "in metal" a prototype of the first wheeled armored personnel carrier of its own production, designated XTC-03. It was designed to replace a line of obsolete Soviet armored vehicles, in particular, the BTR-60, which continues to be actively used by the army.

Unlike the Soviet technology, the XTC-03 has a layout based on the Western approach: the engine is located in the front, and the doors for landing are in the stern.

Thanks to the published video, you can see the commander's sight, which is identical to the one installed on the own-made anti-drone turret, that is, it is theoretically possible to intercept the UAV using a 30-mm 2A42 cannon (or its local equivalent), which is armed with an armored vehicle. Moreover, the XTC-03 is equipped with a modern SLA, although it does not have a radar, which greatly simplifies the interception of drones.

The dimensions of the machine are 7.6x3x2.7 m, which is significantly smaller than modern massive Western BMWs. The low silhouette is due to the placement of the commander and gunner in the tower with a "basket". As indicated, the dimensions allow the fighters to comfortably fit inside the car. At the same time, exiting through the aft doors will make unloading much easier for the troops compared to the "acrobatic exercises" when dismounting from the BTR-60 through the side hatches.

It is stated that the transmission of the Soviet-Russian wheeled armored personnel carriers was completely redesigned, which was caused by the new layout of the vehicle.
