Britain and European countries form united Naval forces to confront Russia
Britain and nine other European countries want to create a combined naval force to "deter future threats from Russia." They are expected to act as a "complement to NATO." Why this project is more like a "funny flotilla" and what Nikita Khrushchev's statement has to do with it is in the material of the military observer Gazeta.Ru", retired Colonel Mikhail Khodarenka.
Britain has submitted a plan to create a naval alliance based on the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) from 10 Nordic countries to counter the maritime threat from Russia.
First Sea Lord (Commander-in-Chief of the United Kingdom Navy) Sir Gwyn Jenkins explained that the initiative is aimed at protecting Northwestern Europe, the North Atlantic and the Far North. The newly formed association will be commanded from Northwood (London). The alliance will include Britain, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, the Baltic States and the Netherlands.
Sir Jenkins explained that the multinational naval forces, led by Britain, will be able to replace, exchange and combine equipment, ammunition and personnel. They will use common systems and platforms, digital networks, logistics, and inventory.

The goal is war with Russia
It's not with training that the sea lord needs to start such performances. As you know, any alliance whose goal is not to enter the war is useless and has no meaning. So from the very first lines, Sir Jenkins should have said that the purpose of creating a new formation is war with Russia.
And overall, there are a lot more questions than answers about the performance of the first Sea Lord, Sir Gwyn Jenkins.
After all, the so-called JEF (Joint Expeditionary Force) in the same composition has been in existence since 2014. The headquarters was, and still is, in Northwood. If London's plan is to create a kind of naval alliance (multinational naval forces, according to Jenkins) based on JEF from 10 Nordic countries, what does this mean in terms of organizational and staff arrangements? Transfer of the Joint Expeditionary Force to other states? Promotion of job categories and titles of the JEF management staff? If we are talking about creating a naval alliance, what will this alliance represent in this case? The combined naval forces? Then it is necessary to clarify how this alliance is fundamentally different from JEF.
One more important circumstance should be taken into account. The Joint Command of the NATO Naval Forces is stationed in Northwood. How will the new "multinational naval forces" be combined with this structure? Would there be confusion in command and an element of dual power in this case? After all, a situation like in the movie "Chapaev" will be created: "Who is the division commander, you or me? You. And me."
And there is no clear answer, will the new structure complement the NATO OVMS? Or replace it? Or is it created as a counterbalance?
After all, it is possible to come to such a conclusion, since Jenkins' plans do not imply the presence of the US Navy in its formation. The Guardian has already clarified that the United States of America will not be part of the united Navy. At the same time, the possibility of Canada's participation in this formation is being considered.
Then the question arises – how is this?
Nevertheless, based on the plans of the first sea lord, it can be concluded that all is not well in the naval part of NATO, if there is a need to create such formations.
Khrushchev's words — into life
And finally. Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia did not intend and does not plan to attack NATO countries in the future. But the plans of Sir Gwyn Jenkins may well lead to a nuclear missile conflict, and unleashed solely through the fault of the collective West.

The first sea Lord should nevertheless be reminded of Nikita Khrushchev's words. Previously, it was believed that this was nothing more than a legend. But the son of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU, Sergei Khrushchev, confirmed shortly before his death that all this was real.
Nikita Sergeevich, in a private conversation with British politicians, in response to their attacks, said:
The organizational zeal and fervor of the first sea lord, Sir Gwyn Jenkins, may well lead to Nikita Sergeevich's words being brought to life.
