The need of the Corporation's organizations for such specialists for the next five years is about 700 people.

Rostec State Corporation is strengthening the training of personnel specializing in the creation of unmanned aircraft systems. The Corporation's organizations need 700 engineers in the near future. Starting this year, UAS specialists with in-depth knowledge in the field of aerodynamics, electric propulsion, radio communications, automated control systems and artificial intelligence will begin training at the Moscow Aviation Institute as part of the Wings of Rostec educational and professional track.

The initiative to create a new training profile was discussed at a meeting of the Kaluga Regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union. The event was held in conjunction with the All-Russian Forum "Unmanned Evolution. Seamless Space", which also took place in Kaluga.

Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are one of the key areas of the country's technological development and the Corporation's Development Strategy until 2036. High-precision Complexes, Rosel, Russian Helicopters, Shvabe, KRET and Kalashnikov concerns, as well as the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) are engaged in UAS at Rostec.

The Corporation's companies develop various types of unmanned systems, produce optoelectronic systems, UAV components, radar stations and anti-drone systems.

"Technologies in the field of UAS are constantly evolving. Application tactics and protective measures that were relevant six months ago may not be effective today. In this regard, we need to train high-level engineers who are able to see trends, think ahead, successfully solve complex technical problems and quickly overcome the distance from R&D to mass production. The demand of Rostec organizations for specialists in unmanned systems over the next five years is about 700 people, who are expected in 13 holding companies of the Corporation. This year, as part of the educational and professional track of the Krylia Rostec Corporation, the first recruitment for a separate UAS engineer training profile will be conducted at the MAI. As this area develops, the demand for relevant specialties will grow," said Nikolai Volobuev, member of the Bureau of the Russian Engineering Union, Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.

The training will be conducted according to a program tailored to the specific requirements of employers. Students from the first year are employed at the enterprise and by the time they graduate they will be well acquainted with the specifics of production. Graduates will be able to continue their studies at the Advanced Engineering Schools of MAI, RGATU and RTU MIREA, which work in the interests of Rostec within the framework of the national project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems".

Currently, UAS training in the interests of the Corporation is conducted at all levels of the corporate training model. 37 educational organizations act as partners: engineering classes, colleges (including LOGOS Technical College and Godovikov Polytechnic), universities within the framework of targeted training, as well as the Rostec Academy for additional professional education programs.

Wings of Rostec is an educational and professional training track for new generation engineers for the domestic aircraft industry, implemented under the auspices of Rostec State Corporation. The project involves 15 universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Samara, Rybinsk, Kazan, Ulan-Ude, Perm, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Ulyanovsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Nizhny Novgorod and Omsk. Currently, almost 1,600 students are studying at Wings of Rostec in 14 areas of study.
