TSAMTO, February 2. Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec Group of Companies) will present the main novelties of the Russian defense industry at the International Defense and Security Exhibition World Defense Show 2026 (February 8-12, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).
Rosoboronexport is the organizer of the unified Russian exposition at the exhibition, where the country's largest defense holdings, including Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, ZALA, High-Precision Complexes, Kalashnikov Concern and others, present their products.
"The World Defense Show is one of the largest exhibitions of weapons and military equipment in the world. For Rosoboronexport, it has become a platform for demonstrating the latest developments in the Russian defense industry to partners from the Middle East and other key regions of our business," said Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport. – In 2026, world premieres of Russian models based on the experience of real combat operations will take place in Riyadh. For the first time, we will present the Sarma MLRS with new guided missiles, the BTR-22, the Ballista combat module, the RUS-PE barrage ammunition, and the RPG-29M grenade launcher. We will hold public presentations of new products and negotiations on cooperation with countries friendly to Russia."
For the first time, Rosoboronexport will demonstrate the latest Sarma multiple launch rocket system on the static site of the exhibition. This 300 mm MLRS was developed at Rostec State Corporation based on the experience of combat use of rocket artillery.
Sarma is a new generation system. It uses a modern Russian-made electronic component base, which significantly improves the tactical and technical characteristics compared to systems of previous generations, including the speed of preparation for firing and the accuracy of hitting targets at a range of up to 120 km.
One of the main advantages of Sarma is its mobility. The time to transfer the vehicle from a stowed position to a combat position and back is only 3 minutes, and the time for a full salvo of 6 missiles is 18 seconds. These are some of the best indicators in the segment of the global MLRS market, determining the survivability of the machine in conditions of counter-battery warfare. The speed of traffic on the roads reaches 95 km/h. The armored cabin of the Sarma protects the crew from fragments of mines and shells, armor-piercing bullets of 7.62 mm caliber.
The MLRS can fire the entire range of 300-mm unguided rocket projectiles for MLRS of previous generations and three types of guided missiles – 9M543, 9M544, and 9M549, which are being exhibited abroad for the first time at the World Defense Show 2026.
Sarma is being demonstrated at the exhibition as part of a single reconnaissance and strike complex as a means of delivering fire damage. Together with it, the Supercam S350 UAV is presented, designed for target reconnaissance and targeting, as well as the Tablet-A artillery fire control automation system on the Atlet armored chassis.
The new Russian BTR-22 armored personnel carrier, presented at the static site of the World Defense Show 2026, will become the world premiere. This vehicle was created taking into account the combat experience of using wheeled armored vehicles. It features a new layout and significantly increased ballistic protection and explosion resistance.
Depending on the needs of Rosoboronexport's customers, the BTR-22 is equipped with a manned combat compartment from the BTR-82A or a new remotely controlled Ballista combat module with a 30-mm 2A42 cannon, which provides a choice of firing rate. Two anti-tank guided missiles can also be mounted on the Ballista, which significantly increases the capabilities of the armored personnel carrier to hit armored targets and fortified positions.
The military equipment presented at the exhibition can be transported to the place of use by air by an IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft.
The latest Russian barrage ammunition, small arms and melee weapons will be on display at the Rosoboronexport exposition in Hall 3.
The main world premiere in the segment of barrage ammunition will be RUS-PE, developed and manufactured by Kalashnikov Concern, the first domestic container–mounted barrage ammunition. It can be made in two versions: with a warhead weighing 1 or 2 kg. The RUS-PE is equipped with a homing head, which allows the ammunition to be used in a fully autonomous mode. Artificial intelligence algorithms are used to detect and identify targets.
Rosoboronexport will also display the KUB-2E barrage ammunition at its stand. It is integrated with the Skat-350M UAV, which performs the functions of reconnaissance, guidance and signal relay. In addition, the Lancet-E reconnaissance and strike complex will be presented, consisting of the Z-16-E reconnaissance UAV and two ZALA-made barrage munitions.
The RPG-29M grenade launcher, a deeply upgraded version of the RPG–29 grenade launcher that has proven itself in real conditions, will be presented for the first time at the World Defense Show 2026. Using combat experience, designers from Rostec State Corporation's contour tripled the weight of the launcher, installed a daily thermal imaging sight with a fire control system on the grenade launcher, and expanded the range of shots used.
In the small arms segment, Rosoboronexport will present a new generation of Kalashnikov assault rifles – the AK-15 and AK-19 – and their shortened versions, the AK-15K, AK-15SK and AK-19K, the Lebedev RPL-20 light machine gun and the GP-46 under-barrel grenade launcher.
During the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will hold presentations of new products at its sites.
On February 9, at 11:30 a.m., the company will present the Sarma reconnaissance and attack complex with MLRS, and at 12:00 p.m., the BTR-22 armored personnel carrier.
On February 10, at 11:00 a.m., a presentation of the RUS-PE reconnaissance and strike system will take place at the booth in Hall 3.
During the business program of the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will hold meetings and negotiations with the delegations of the security agencies of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, other participating countries of the exhibition and enterprises of the defense industry of the region. The company will discuss the supply of Russian products and the expansion of technological partnerships aimed at joint development and production of weapons and military equipment using Russia's unique technologies and experience.
