The Ministers of Industry and Economic Development of Russia inspected the plant's production facilities during a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan.

Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, visited the S.P. Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant, a branch of JSC Tupolev (part of the United Aircraft Corporation of Rostec State Corporation). During the working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan, the ministers inspected the plant's existing production facilities, assessed the progress of installation and launch of new equipment, and also heard reports on projects being implemented at KAZ.

The guests were accompanied by the General Director of PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec State Corporation) Vadim Badekha, Acting Managing Director of JSC Tupolev Yuri Abrosimov, First Deputy Managing Director of JSC Tupolev — KAZ Director Zufar Mirgalimov and other officials.

The inspection began with the Tu-214 assembly shop and the central assembly warehouse. The delegation visited the workshops of mechanical processing and blank-stamping production, where new high-performance equipment is being installed. The Ministers also got acquainted with the new warehouses of the modern logistics center, which are currently at the stage of commissioning.

The management of the Kazan Aviation Plant presented ongoing and completed projects to improve production efficiency. Photographs of workshops in the "before/after" format clearly demonstrated the qualitative improvements of industrial sites achieved with the use of lean manufacturing tools. The approaches implemented at the S. P. Gorbunov KAZ during the pilot project will be replicated at all UAC enterprises.

"Active work with the Agency for the development of professional skills and the center for competence in the field of labor productivity allows us to confidently move towards the goal of reducing the assembly cycle of the Tu—214 fuselage to 12 days, which will allow us to produce up to 20 aircraft annually. Such results were achieved thanks to a large—scale renovation program for fixed assets, the construction of new buildings and work on lean manufacturing," Anton Alikhanov said.

"It is important that, using the example of the aircraft industry, colleagues are combining projects on robotics and automation and testing the end-to-end flow format. This is building a single chain from the manufacturer to suppliers so that all components reach the factory on time and in the right volume. In the future, we will extend the end-to-end flow format to other critical industries.: shipbuilding, energy, and space. We will also have to work closely with other departments, and above all with the Ministry of Industry and Trade," Maxim Reshetnikov emphasized.

The ministers were also informed about the progress of the project to ensure the clock assembly of the Tu-214 fuselage and the digital model of the AOS-2 workshop using simulation modeling. The company's employees presented an analysis of current production processes with a breakdown of bottlenecks, as well as a plan for the transition to a new system of work that will ensure access to the specified aircraft production volumes.

"Work to improve production efficiency is very important for UAC in achieving the Corporation's goals for the mass production of civil aircraft. This work is ongoing, including the use of lean manufacturing methods, automation of assembly processes and the introduction of new digital solutions. We will implement best practices at all our production sites, including KAZ," said Vadim Badekha.

As a result of the visit, the first field meeting of the coordination staff for improving labor productivity was held. It discussed the mechanism for involving the Agency for the Development of Professional Skills, the Rosatom State Corporation's industry competence Center and the Federal and Regional Centers of Competence in the field of labor productivity in the implementation of complex projects.
