The German concern Rheinmetall first introduced the Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle in 2018. Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger called the Lynx KF41 "the new star of armored vehicles." According to the list provided by him, 8 countries (including Ukraine) can become buyers of infantry fighting vehicles, a total demand of 6,148 units has been announced, while the United States and Italy alone account for almost 5,000 units.

Due to its large internal volume, the Lynx accommodates 3 crew members and an infantry squad of up to 9 people. The dimensions of the car are 8.49x3.8x3.73 m.
