The Russian Helicopters Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation has opened a new machining facility at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. It is planned to manufacture a wide range of parts for the holding's plants and fulfill commercial orders on its premises. In addition, it opens up additional job creation opportunities for KVZ.
Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, visited the production. The delegation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia also inspected the final assembly workshop with a flight test complex and the main production sites of the enterprise.
"In recent years, the Kazan Helicopter Plant has significantly increased production volumes. I am confident that the expansion of areas, the introduction of automated lines, and the use of the most modern domestic machine tools in critical areas of production will ensure an increase in labor productivity and contribute to the further development of the enterprise," said Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
The construction of a modern mechanical processing plant with an area of 30,000 square meters began at the KVZ in 2023.
"The newly created mechanical assembly plant will increase labor productivity through the introduction of automated lines, updating the technical park and improving working conditions. The workshop is equipped with modern turning, milling and universal CNC machines, as well as robotic complexes. Several production facilities have been built and put into operation at the KVZ over the past two and a half years. In particular, in 2024, a production and training center for 3,500 students, a final assembly workshop with an area of 32 thousand square meters and a flight test complex were launched," said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation.
Staffing for the machining industry is being completed today. The company needs CNC machine operators, milling workers, engineers, programmers, supervisors, technologists and other highly qualified workers and specialists.
"The opening of a new machining facility is an important step for the entire holding, which will not only strengthen its position in the market, but also ensure stability and development in the future. In recent years, the Kazan Helicopter Plant has significantly increased its output. New modern equipment will reduce the shortage of production personnel, reduce the manufacturing cycle and the proportion of manual labor in the production of similar parts, and increase the efficiency of equipment use. It is planned to manufacture a wide range of parts for the holding's plants at the new facilities and fulfill commercial orders from enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan and Rostec State Corporation located in the Central and Volga Federal Districts," said Nikolai Kolesov, CEO of Russian Helicopters Holding Company.
Since 2024, a Production and training center for the training and retraining of broad-based workers has been operating at the KVZ. The center trains personnel not only for Rostec enterprises, but also for other plants in various industries. Eight areas of educational programs and 38 sought-after professions are available for training. Cooperation projects with schools, colleges and universities are being successfully implemented. It is possible to create individual training programs for personnel at the request of any enterprises.
