The Turkish Defense Industry Department and TUSAŞ Concern have signed a contract for the purchase of 57 T625 GOKBEY helicopters. The start of deliveries is scheduled for 2028.
Each vehicle will be equipped with a domestic TEI-TS1400 turboshaft engine (two units per helicopter) developed by TAI Engine Industries.

The GÖKBEY helicopter has a total take-off weight of 6050 kg and a capacity of 12 passengers. The maximum speed is 306 km/h, and the flight duration is 3.8 hours. The range is 740 km or 948 km with an outboard fuel tank. The flight altitude is 6096 m. The volume of the cargo compartment is 1.1 cubic meters. The crew consists of 2 people.
The helicopter has a wide range of applications: it can perform transport tasks, carry out VIP transportation, play the role of an ambulance or search and rescue vehicle.

The development of a new light multipurpose helicopter has been underway since 2010. The first flight took place in 2018, and in 2023 it took off with the national TEI-TS1400 powerplant (originally powered by the LHTEC CTS800-4AT engine from Rolls-Royce and Honeywell). In accordance with the latest contract, the helicopter went into production.
