South Korea has put a lot of effort into developing self-propelled guns designed to withstand the DPRK's artillery power. The result of these efforts was the K9 tracked self-propelled gun, manufactured by Hanwha Aerospace.
- it says in the South Korean edition of Bemil.
Among the competitors are the tracked self-propelled guns PzH2000 (Germany), as well as the wheeled RCH155 (Germany) and Archer (Sweden).
- it is noted in the press.
The SH-16A is based on the chassis of the VN-22 8x8 armored vehicle weighing from 24 to 30 tons, the ballistic protection of which is at a high level, allowing it to withstand a bullet from a 14.5 mm x 114 cartridge. The ACS is equipped with a remote-controlled turret weighing 14 tons with an automatic loader and a battery for 30 rounds. Due to this, the SH-16A can serve only 2-3 people.

A 155-mm howitzer with a 52-caliber barrel has a maximum firing range of 56 km. The first shot is fired within 30 seconds after entering the target parameters, and continuous shooting can be carried out at a rate of 6 rounds per minute. A laser ignition system is used to ignite the powder charge during firing.
