TSAMTO, May 19th. Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) is organizing a joint Russian exposition at the International Exhibition of Aerospace and Naval Equipment LIMA 2025, which will be held from May 20 to 24 in Malaysia.
The company will participate in the Langkawi Island event for the first time since 2019.
"Malaysia is Rosoboronexport's key and long–standing partner in Southeast Asia, and military-technical cooperation with it has objective prospects for further development. The country's armed forces continue to operate previously supplied Russian military products, including airplanes, helicopters, Ground Forces equipment, and air defense systems. The Su-30MKM fighters form the backbone of the Royal Air Force and are undergoing maintenance at the Russian-Malaysian joint venture Aerospace Technology System Corporation in the country. This is a vivid example of technological cooperation, which we are ready to comprehensively develop," said Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport.
Rosoboronexport will present weapons and military equipment for all the country's law enforcement agencies at LIMA 2025. Most of the samples have been severely tested in real combat conditions and have been refined based on this experience.
The main theme of the exhibition is the aviation component. In this segment, the company will present the latest Russian 5th generation fighter, the Su-57E, which will be of interest to both representatives of the Royal Malaysian Air Force and other Southeast Asian countries. Its main advantage over its few competitors is its successful experience of participating in combat operations in a real armed conflict with the use of modern means of air attack, air defense and electronic warfare by the enemy.
Visitors to the exhibition and potential partners of Rosoboronexport will also see the Su-35C and Su-30SM super-maneuverable fighters during performances by the Russian Knights aerobatic team. The flight program and aerobatics of Russian pilots invariably become the highlights of any air show.
Rosoboronexport will present the IL-76MD-90A (E) aircraft capable of transporting 60 tons of cargo over a distance of 4,000 km. It can be used to transport personnel and military equipment, land troops and cargo, and can also be quickly converted into a fire-fighting version and a "military hospital" version.
In addition, the company will show Russian Ka-52E and Mi-28NME combat helicopters, as well as the Mi-171SH military transport helicopter on Langkawi Island. These machines have proven their high flight performance during operation and are currently the most in demand in Southeast Asia.
In the air defense segment, the company will present modern Russian anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes for covering the country's administrative and industrial regions, troops and infrastructure facilities. To defeat long-range air targets, Rosoboronexport will present the Antey–4000 air defense system, and at medium range, the S-350E Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system and the Viking anti-aircraft missile system developed and manufactured by Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region.
Rosoboronexport is presenting Pantsir-S1M and Pantsir-SMD-E short-range and short-range MANPADS systems as means of object protection against any aerial threats, including UAVs, cruise missiles and MLRS missiles. During the celebration of Victory Day in Russia on May 9, 2025, they demonstrated to the whole world that they are able to ensure the safety of citizens and important facilities in the face of massive UAV attacks.
In addition, the company will present a line of electronic warfare equipment designed to counter UAVs and precision weapons elements.
The Kub-E barrage ammunition and the Orlan-10E and Skat-350M reconnaissance UAVs can provide an effective solution to military and special police operations.
Another key segment of LIMA 2025 will be devoted to the naval component, in which Rosoboronexport will demonstrate the patrol ship of Project 22160 and the mine-fighting ship of Project 12701 Alexandrite-E. Their construction can be localized at shipyards in Malaysia and other countries in the region, both in the interests of the national Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Police, and for export to third countries.
Using the example of the uninhabited autonomous underwater vehicle Klavesin-1RE, the capabilities of the Russian defense industry in creating marine robotic complexes will be demonstrated.
Russian products presented in Malaysia can be supplied by Rosoboronexport as final samples or produced in partner countries as part of joint technological projects.
During LIMA 2025, the Rosoboronexport delegation will discuss cooperation opportunities and prospects for further cooperation with representatives of the Ministries of Defense and other law enforcement agencies, as well as public and private enterprises in Malaysia and the countries of the region.
