One of the topics of discussion was the development of military and dual-use information technologies in the work of medical units.
MOSCOW, April 17th. /tass/. An exhibition of advanced medical developments and a scientific conference were held at the Kirov branch of the Military Medical Academy in Moscow in honor of the tenth anniversary of the educational institution. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"The branch of the Kirov Military Medical Academy in Moscow hosted celebrations dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the educational institution. <...> An exhibition of advanced medical developments and a scientific conference were organized as part of the celebrations. During the conference, participants discussed the issues of first aid on the battlefield, modern technologies and developments for providing prompt and high-quality first aid, the development of a system of remote telemedicine technologies, and the introduction of innovations in the work of medical units," the ministry said.
One of the topics of discussion was the development of promising military and dual-use information technologies in the work of medical units. The developers presented the information support system "Burr" in the interests of medical support for the troops. It is a software that can be downloaded to almost any modern mobile device. Thanks to the application, commanders of all levels can organize the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield in real time with active illumination of the victim's location on an online map, calculate the necessary forces and means to provide medical care.
In addition, during first aid, the specialist downloads the injury data directly to the mobile device in a convenient form and sends it to the medical center for further issuance of a certificate of injury. Now the developers are continuing to refine the application, expanding the list of devices for integration, which will allow for data transmission and information exchange through radio stations, radar stations, UAVs and other means of communication.
During the plenary session on the occasion of the anniversary, teachers, residents, and officers of the academy were awarded state and departmental awards, including for performing tasks in the area of a special military operation. Major General of the Medical Service Maxim Kuandykov, Deputy Head of the Main Military Medical Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant General Evgeny Kryukov, Head of the Kirov Military Medical Academy, and Colonel of the Medical Service Sergey Borisevich, Head of the 48th Central Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, congratulated them on their 10th anniversary.
