It has been more than 20 years since the last flight of the supersonic passenger aircraft Concorde. Surprisingly, even with all the current achievements in the field of aircraft construction, he still has not found a worthy replacement.
Since then, the speed of passenger airliners has been firmly "stuck" at Mach 0.74 to Mach 0.85 (the maximum speed of the Concorde was Mach 2.04) — which, however, does not mean the end of the race for the "civilian" supersonic. The Canadian company Bombardier is much inferior to its powerful competitors — Boeing, Airbus and Embraer in terms of sales, but it is confidently leading in its segment — the production of premium business jets, and its new flagship Global 8000 in terms of speed, comfort and range is already close to Concorde.

It will fly at a speed of 1,150 km/h at a range of up to 15,000 km. Several innovations have been introduced into the design of the airliner. Among them is an unusual two-in-one wing, which provides high-speed flight over long distances, increased lift, increased maneuverability at low speeds and resistance to turbulence. In the cabin, passengers will find a luxurious interior divided into four separate areas, including the main salon with a double bed and a shower. Passengers can use Nuage branded chairs, which reduce the load on their backs during long flights. Another advantage of the Global 8000 is maintaining a comfortable pressure inside the cabin at altitudes above 12,000 m. It also has access to a much larger number of airports than its competitors. The airliner is expected to begin operations in the second half of this year.
