The head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, assured the Russians that the recent fire at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant (OSSZ) had no impact on his work. The company continues to operate normally.
The official made such a statement on his official Internet resources.
Parfenchikov also spoke about the results of his meeting with representatives of the Military Construction Company (VSK), which is the contractor for the construction of new workshops of the enterprise.
The head of the region noted that since the main production facilities of the plant were not affected, the icebreakers and crab boats would come off the slipway on schedule.

At the meeting, it was decided that the VSK would take care of all the consequences of the fire. It is planned to conduct an inspection of the fire site within two weeks and determine the work front. The greatest difficulty will be caused by the dismantling of damaged structures and the purchase of necessary building materials.
All work to eliminate the consequences of the man-made disaster is expected to be completed within 2-3 months.

During the meeting, the highest professionalism of the fire crews was once again noted, thanks to which it was possible to minimize the damage.
It is also important that the investigation establish and make public the results of the investigation into the causes of the fire.
