TSAMTO, March 12th. The issues of digitalization of the aviation industry were discussed by the participants of the first All-Russian conference "AviaTifra 2025" in Kazan.
The discussions were attended by information technology managers of PJSC UAC, UEC, RT-Inform (the companies are part of Rostec State Corporation), as well as representatives of domestic IT development companies.
Rostec State Corporation and its member companies, including UAC, are actively implementing domestic IT products today, looking for reliable domestic solutions to shape the target IT landscape of the aircraft industry. The actual implemented programs and the experience of other large companies are being studied.
For a number of industry–critical processes – product design and production management - domestic software solutions are only being developed. This is a systemic task that requires government support.
In 2022, by decision of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Aircraft Industry Industrial Competence Center was established on the basis of the UAC. Work is underway on the project "Implementation of a unified information environment for managing the development of aircraft products based on approaches and methods of system engineering and lifecycle management", which will allow to refine and implement a domestic PLM system based on the existing T-FLEX platform. A phased transition to the new platform is planned.
Another project under development is the creation and implementation of an import-independent RMS platform (resource management system) of a "heavy class" for the aircraft industry. Its outline will include modules on material and technical resource management and product quality management of manufacturing enterprises and experimental design bureaus.
"Digitalization in the aircraft industry began earlier than many other industries. Digital design, digital testing, and digital product doubles are all the realities of our industry. But, nevertheless, information technology is, first of all, about people, about personnel and competencies. This is the search, attraction and retention of IT specialists in the industry. We are currently working on this in detail. Especially in solving the complex tasks that we are facing at this stage, we need specialists who can work more widely than the education received at the "IT courses" allows. Today we are actively working on the creation of a domestic PLM system and we need the best specialists," said Ivan Golubushin, Director of Digital Transformation and Information Technology at PJSC UAC, speaking at the plenary session of the conference.
"We need to start interacting and communicating in a common language, we need common practices and policies in the field of information technology management. It is necessary to develop common approaches to building IT architecture among the lead performers, as well as to form a unified classifier of engineering tasks. This is one of our key priorities, as IT specialists, our customers-engineers and developers of the corresponding software, unfortunately, can interpret the same processes in different ways," said Alexander Krasnov, Information Technology Director at Yakovlev PJSC.
"UEC confidently holds the leadership in the machine-building industry in the digitalization of business processes. We are systematically following the path of import substitution of foreign software. The corporation's enterprises are already implementing domestic software products in the field of PLM and CAD, which are used to develop new aircraft engines, and production and supply chain management software is being piloted. Russian developments will allow us to rely only on our own resources when creating new aircraft engines and develop the domestic engine industry," said the Director of Digital Transformation of the United Engine Corporation (UEC, part of Rostec State Corporation). Vyacheslav Khristolyubov.
The conference participants were able to see firsthand the scale of the challenges facing the industry by visiting the workshops of the Tupolev branch of the Kazan Aviation Plant named after S.P.Gorbunov.
The AviaTifra-2025 conference is being held in Kazan on March 10-12. The event is not only a demonstration of achievements, but also a step towards creating a sustainable ecosystem where digital technologies will become the basis for the innovative development of the aviation industry.
