The largest Middle East arms exhibition IDEX-2025 in the United Arab Emirates, which was attended by the Russian Federation, demonstrated the most relevant trends in the development of weapons of the 21st century, and outlined new areas of weapons business determined by the realities in modern theaters of military operations.
This year, expositions of companies from all over the world developing various types of weapons and military equipment, robotics, tracking systems, military ammunition, training simulators, and so on were presented in Abu Dhabi.
The Russian delegation to IDEX-2025 was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. Our country presented the products of dozens of domestic defense enterprises, the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, Rostec State Corporation, and other defense holdings.
We explain the interest in Russian weapons samples, because Russia presents on external platforms the latest developments in the field of weapons and military equipment, which – and this is the main thing – daily prove their high tactical and technical characteristics on the real battlefield, in the area of a special military operation.

As noted in Rosoboronexport, the main idea of the Russian exposition at the exhibition in the UAE was to demonstrate "Russia's integrated approach to the creation and modernization of all types of weapons, taking into account the experience of modern warfare." That is why our country has brought planes and helicopters, anti-aircraft missile systems and systems, military armored vehicles, various types of UAVs, combat modules, small arms, ammunition and much more to Abu Dhabi.
To date, the share of countries in the Middle East and North Africa accounts for about 50 percent of Rosoboronexport's order portfolio, said Alexander Mikheev, CEO of the corporation. Among the projects being discussed and already being implemented are the production of military armored vehicles, Russian UAVs, precision-guided weapons, small arms, and other weapons on the territory of customers.
Against the background of the rapid development of air attack weapons, the increased attention of the participants and guests of the exhibition was drawn to Russian-made anti-aircraft missile systems and systems located in the fields of the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan Region Concern exposition.
It is at the enterprises of this Russian defense holding that the main scientific competencies and production facilities for the creation of modern air defense and missile defense systems are concentrated.
At IDEX-2025, the concern focused primarily on military air defense.
Anti-aircraft missile systems of the Tor family are being created and are undergoing modernization at the production facilities of the Izhevsk Electromechanical plant Kupol.

At the IDEX-2025 exhibition, Izhevsk gunsmiths demonstrated models of Tor-M2KM short-range anti-aircraft missile systems in stationary and mobile versions, as well as Tor-E2 air defense systems on a tracked chassis and Tor-M2K on a wheeled chassis.
As representatives of Kupol noted, all modifications of the Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system are capable of providing air defense of land or ship formations, as well as military and civilian facilities, from attacks by various means of air attack, including Western production, in their interception zone.
The latest Russian "Torus" of all modifications shoot down airplanes and helicopters, tactical, cruise, anti-radar and other types of missiles, gliding and guided aerial bombs, and, of course, military UAVs in difficult meteorological and interference conditions.
