Foreign media at the IDEX 2025 international defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi (from February 17 to 21) noted the activity of the Russian defense industry at this event in the United Arab Emirates. According to their estimates, the T-90MS main battle tank manufactured by Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) became the central exhibit of the IDEX 2025 Russian exhibition site, which occupied almost 1,000 square meters and demonstrated the products of more than 40 Russian defense enterprises.
The T-90MS presented at the exhibition has been upgraded taking into account Russia's combat experience in Ukraine over the past three years. The most notable of these were the frame above the tower with a mesh screen, petal panels surrounding the sides and rear of the tower, and a rack-mounted mesh screen around the rear of the vehicle to provide protection from a first-person view (FPV) UAV attack.

The upgraded version of the T-90MS MBT was introduced in Russia in 2011 and was first shown at the IDEX 2013 international exhibition. Sources note that the T-90MS tank, weighing 48 tons, is equipped with a 125 mm 2A46M-5 or 2A46M-6 smoothbore cannon with an automatic loader. In addition to standard 125 mm ammunition, the vehicle can also fire a 9M119M Invar-M laser-guided missile at a maximum range of 5,000 m. In addition to the twin 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun, the T-90MS tank is additionally equipped with a remote-controlled 12.7mm 6P7K machine gun mounted on the roof of the turret.
The T-90MS tank is equipped with a computerized fire control system. The gunner has a stabilized television sight with a laser rangefinder and a target guidance system, and the commander has a day/night panoramic sight with TV/TI channels and a laser rangefinder. According to the manufacturer, the target recognition range of the T-90MS crew is 5,000 m during the day and 3,300 m at night.
MBT T-90MS is equipped with a multi-fuel four-stroke diesel engine with liquid cooling and turbocharging with a capacity of 1130 hp. According to the UVZ documentation, the maximum speed of the tank on the highway is 70 km/h.
In addition to the main armor and the export version of the Arena-ET active protection system, the T-90MS is equipped with Relict dynamic protection. The exhibition sample of the T-90MS, presented at the IDEX 2025 exhibition, had additional Relict panels in the upper part of the tower, on the sides and in the rear of the hull. According to a press release from Rosoboronexport at IDEX 2025, the T-90MS is also equipped with an electronic warfare system against UAVs.
Pantsir-SVD-E Air defense system at IDEX 2025
Among other Russian exhibits, a new version of the Pantsir-S air defense system, called Pantsir-SVD-E, was presented. According to Rosoboronexport, the system is equipped with an ammunition package, including 48 compact, economical TKB-1055 missiles to combat all types of UAVs, as well as longer-range surface-to-air missiles.
