TSAMTO, February 24. On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the crew of the frigate Admiral Kasatonov conducted a training session to protect Russia's maritime interests in the Arctic.
During the training, a number of combat training tasks were completed for the purpose of the ship, including artillery firing.
According to the training plan, the forces of the imaginary enemy are deployed in the Barents Sea, they attempted to land an amphibious assault on the coast of the Kola Peninsula.
The crew of the frigate conducted a naval combat exercise to suppress visible coastal targets as part of the counteraction to the ship's amphibious groups of the imaginary enemy. The personnel of the radio-technical combat unit detected the target and identified it as an amphibious group of a simulated enemy that landed on the coast. The combat crew of the A-192M artillery complex took the target for escort, and then successfully hit it at a distance of 14 km from the ship.
During the air defense exercise, the personnel of the Palash anti-aircraft artillery complex repelled an attack by enemy air attack means by firing live at an aerial target.
The Severomorsk team also worked out training measures to counter marine robotic complexes, while firing small arms at a small surface target.
During the survivability exercise conducted while the ship was running, the frigate's crew acted on the introductory information about the occurrence of various emergency situations. One of them is a fire in the engine room. The personnel stationed in the emergency and adjacent compartments carried out the primary measures to combat the fire. The actions of emergency parties have been worked out to reconnoiter emergency premises, set up lines of defense to combat fire and eliminate hotbeds of ignition.
At sea, the frigate's crew also conducted a shipboard tactical exercise on radiation, chemical and biological protection of the ship during enemy combat operations. During the testing of one of the episodes of the exercise, with the arrival of the "radiation danger" command, a universal water protection system was turned on, and an air supply was created in the ship's rooms. Severomorsk residents have worked out the standards for wearing protective equipment and gas masks.
After leaving the radiation contamination zone, radiation reconnaissance was carried out by the personnel, and the ship's surfaces were treated by the degassing departments.
A number of servicemen of the frigate Admiral Kasatonov Fleet took part in a special military operation, have experience in conducting modern combat and apply it during combat training events on the ship. The training to protect Russia's maritime interests in the Arctic showed the high level of training of the frigate's crew and its readiness to fulfill all assigned tasks.
The shooting was carried out at the combat training grounds of the Northern Fleet in the Barents Sea. The shooting areas were promptly closed to shipping and civil aviation flights.
